From Frigid Waters to Verified ESG Data
On Wednesday the 26th of November, right behind Stockholm's iconic Vasa Museum, we teamed up with the incredible Hands2Ocean crew for a powerful demonstration of ocean regeneration in action. This event wasn't just about cleaning the Baltic Sea; it was a real-world test of how grassroots efforts translate into verifiable, corporate-grade sustainability impact.
The Action: Recovering the Invisible Threat
The Hands2Ocean divers went deep beneath the surface, navigating the murky waters to recover the hidden waste that harms our oceans. This included everything from tires and car batteries to bottles and even old grenades — rubbish that doesn't make headlines but still poses a significant threat to marine ecosystems.
The rope pullers and dedicated volunteers then hoisted up the scrap, successfully turning underwater rubbish into recoverable impact and showcasing how this community-driven effort focuses on citizen participation in climate action.
Your Devocean: Transforming Trash into Trust
This is where Your Devocean stepped in. Our primary role was to take that tangible haul (the recovered tires and the toxic car batteries from the seabed) and transform it into measurable, auditable impact. We weighed and verified the collected scrap, ensuring the resulting data is real, measurable, and trusted.
This verification process is the crucial link that enables companies to invest in ocean impact with confidence. It provides the backbone for transparent, reportable, and scalable impact.
Compliance is the New Collaboration
For companies committed to Ocean regeneration, this collaboration provides essential, auditable data. Our process aligns the Hands2Ocean action with the strict requirements of EU regulatory frameworks, such as the CSRD. The impact data we generated helps corporate sponsors with their ESRS reporting under areas like ESRS E3 (Water and Marine Resources) and ESRS E4 (Biodiversity & Ecosystems).
This commitment is central to our mission of providing verified and transparent impact. We maintain a clear verification and audit pipeline for NGOs and are dedicated to transparent fund allocation and verified impact reporting.
Huge respect to everyone involved, the incredible Hands2Ocean crew, divers, volunteers, rope teams, and even our four-legged supervisors (the bonus highlight of the day!).
Together, we’re proving what collaboration looks like when we unite NGOs, companies, and individuals for the ocean.
