From a world record dive to a new chapter for the ocean economy

Your Devocean at the World record day with Hands2Ocean

Together with our collaboration partner Hands2Ocean, we joined the world record attempt to remove marine waste — and used it as a live field test for our verification system.

In just 24 hours, Hands2Ocean’s volunteer divers collected over 16.2 tonnes of marine debris, including, among other things;

  • 200 kg of lead batteries

  • 12 e-scooters

  • 4 tonnes of tires

  • plus two cars, two boats, and even an unexploded grenade (luckily disarmed).

Beyond the headlines, this was an opportunity to prove that real-world ocean actions can become traceable ESG data — not just inspiring stories.

The race for credible ocean data

As EU Taxonomy and CSRD regulations tighten, companies face a clear challenge: to move from reporting intentions to proving measurable impact.

Today, 40–50% of CSRD-reporting companies identify biodiversity or water as material areas — and around 200 specifically list the ocean as a focus. That’s a clear signal: the demand for credible marine impact data is rising fast.

Your Devocean’s platform meets that demand. It translates verified field data — such as the waste collected in Stockholm — into audit-grade ESG metrics that align with the EU frameworks.

Or, as we like to say: we make the incredible credible.

Learning by doing: proving our concept underwater

Maj Grove - CEO & Founder

When we partnered up with Hands2Ocean, our goal wasn’t just to help remove waste — it was to test every link in the impact verification chain.

From documentation and categorization to traceability and data integrity, we wanted to see if our system could hold up in a real, chaotic environment.

It did.

“We were covered in smelly mud from the seabed, tired, cold and wet — and it was the most wonderful feeling. What we achieved was invaluable. We saw our platform working in real time, turning volunteer actions into verifiable data points, with the local waters getting cleaner for it. Sharing this with all these amazing volunteers makes it feel real & powerful. A movement coming to life.” - Maj Grove, Founder and CEO.

The world record event gave us direct feedback on how to improve our platform — from the user interface and data structures to the field documentation process. In short, it helped us build something stronger, faster, and closer to real-world conditions.

Building the infrastructure for ocean impact verification

Fredrik Johansson, Founder Hands2Ocean

Every verified action — every battery lifted, every kilogram logged — became a data asset. This is where Your Devocean’s model differentiates itself.

We don’t take a cut from the funds going to NGOs or regeneration projects. Instead, we monetize the software layer that transforms those activities into measurable ESG value for companies.

That transparency is intentional. It ensures that every cent possible goes to ocean regeneration, while giving companies long-term, scalable access to verified impact.

“We’ve been cleaning the sea for years, but this time we could show, with data, what that really means. It’s not just clean water — it’s measurable regeneration.” - Fredrik Johansson Founder Hands2Ocean

From proof to movement

The world record dive was just the beginning — a proof of concept that demonstrated how existing environmental efforts can be elevated to audit-grade impact without waiting for new biodiversity credit systems or complex policy frameworks.

By aligning with existing EU rules, Your Devocean is effectively short-tracking the path for companies to invest in nature, biodiversity, and ocean regeneration — with verified proof from day one.

Now, we’re preparing pilot projects with partners across the Baltic region. Together, we’re creating an impact infrastructure that bridges NGOs and corporations, enabling both to do what they do best: act locally, and account globally.

The movement begins here

Healthy oceans are the foundation of life — and now, they can also be the foundation of credible, verifiable ESG performance.

We believe that regeneration is not just possible; it’s essential. By connecting fieldwork, technology, and transparency, we’re turning the underfunded into the fundable — and paving the path for responsible corporate leadership.

Because it’s the right thing to do.
